Time to "Phone a Friend?"

You may remember the popular "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" that still airs in some distant corner of cable television. Centered around a contestant who has to answer increasingly difficult questions to win $1,000,000, each contestant had three "life lines", one of which was to phone a friend to ask for help. These friends were often not very helpful.

As we begin the class registration process for next year, this is your chance to be a meaningful lifeline for a friend! Who might you invite to learn more about God's love for them? There's no $1,000,000 to win, but it is a no-lose situation. God's word is always powerful, always meaningful, and always life changing. Why not phone a friend and invite them to CBS?

What is the gospel of Jesus Christ?  Does it have any bearing on life today?  What is the truth about human existence?  Can anyone really know?  The Columbia Community Bible Study class welcomes you to come and find answers as we immerse in the Apostle Paul’s amazing letter to the Romans.  Throughout the ages countless students of the Bible have sought to plumb the depths of Romans.  In the process lives have been transformed.  Minds have been enlightened.  And people have been moved to risk all for the Lord Jesus Christ.  Come find out why.  Even if you’ve studied for years, come.  Your life just might never be the same!

So what do we do at CBS?  A typical class day includes worship time, discussion groups and a lecture with emphasis on application to life today.  There is also programming for children, including a pre-school curriculum and homeschooling instruction that parallels the adult study.  Please note that for a child to attend the parent or grandparent must be enrolled in the adult study.   Also available is a nursery and a Moms with Newborns group.

Registration fees:  Adults - $25.   Each child enrolled - $10 (discounts may apply).  If registration payment is a burden, fees will be gladly waived. Registration fees for adults provide less than one quarter of the financial resources needed to operate the ministry.  Contributions beyond the $25 registration are quite welcome—and tax deductible. Suggested donation for lessons is $75.  Occasional donations may be requested for the children’s department and for other CBS programming.

To register contact Lori Concannon at 573-268-5515, pconcann@yahoo.com (1308 Strathmore Dr., Columbia 65203).  Questions about the study may be directed to Linda Vinson at 573-446-6146 or lvinson@mchsi.com.

To download registration forms, select Adult Form or Children's Form.  Completed forms and fees may be mailed to Lori at the above address.
