MARK (an 18-week study)
PHILEMON, 1-3 JOHN, JUDE (a 12-week study)

Join us for the 2014/2015 class year as we hit the road running with the Gospel of Mark.  Mark was not one of the initial 12 disciples.  But as a young man he eagerly followed the disciples and his Master Jesus.  As you will discover, one of Mark’s favorite words is immediately.  Mark will show us Jesus in intense, vivid snapshots that will rivet our hearts to the Savior.  How then should we live in response to Jesus?  That’s part 2 of our course.  We will consider Philemon, a slave owner challenged to forgive and to live in newness of life.  We will study John, who was transformed from a son of thunder to a gentle shepherd preaching unconditional love.  And we will end with Jude, whose words are full of fire and warning and hope!  Come discover Jesus and REALLY live!

So what do we do at CBS?  A typical class day includes worship time, discussion groups and a lecture with emphasis on application to life today.  There is also programming for children, including a pre-school curriculum and homeschooling instruction that parallels the adult study.  We are also hoping to offer for the first time an AGAPE group for adults with special needs.  Ask us about it!  As always we will have a nursery and a Moms-with-Newborns core group.  Please note that for a child to attend the parent or grandparent must be enrolled in the adult study.

Registration fees:  Adults - $25.   Each child enrolled - $10 (discounts may apply).  If registration payment is a burden, fees will be gladly waived. Registration fees for adults provide less than one quarter of the financial resources needed to operate the ministry.  Contributions beyond the $25 registration are quite welcome—and tax deductible. Suggested donation for lessons is $75.  Occasional donations may be requested for the children’s department and for other CBS programming.

To pre-register contact Lori Concannon at 573-268-5515, pconcann@yahoo.com (1308 Strathmore Dr., Columbia 65203).  Questions about the study may be directed to Linda Vinson at 573-446-6146, lvinson@mchsi.com (2604 Hillshire Dr., Columbia MO 65203).
